'La Alpujarra' boasts over 320 days of
sunshine each year and the warm climate early on in the year makes it
ideal for riding. The daily maximum temperatures average ~20°C in February and March making for a very welcome change from the Northern European winter.
While the snow capped peaks of the Sierra
Nevada are always around the corner, the camp is based on the Southern
side of the mountain range, where the snow rarely settles below 2000m.
On our camps you are likely to want to wear shorts and short sleeves for
most of your rides (arm warmers and a gilet are recommended for long
descents!).
Órgiva, where we are based, is only 30km
from 'La Costa Tropical' and as the name suggests you will find palm
tree-lined beaches and exotic fruit farms nestled in the foothills. The
coastal cafes make for great pit stops to refuel and work on those
tanlines!
