What to expect from the rides

Órgiva is the ideal base for your cycling holiday with the snow topped Sierra Nevada mountain range to the North and the Mediterranean Sea a short ride South. The smooth roads offer fantastic riding all year round.
'On camp' we adapt the days to our clients and our experienced guides have a great knack of knowing when to adjust routes to maximise your enjoyment. The distances will vary depending on the group's ability but a typical week's riding might involve:

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival and assembly of bikes before a short spin to loosen off. In the evening relax with a good meal and get to know the rest of your group for the week.

Day 2

A longer ride down to the coast before sampling the first real climbs.

Day 3

A ride inland through the Sierra Nevada National Park and up to Spain's highest village of Trevélez.

Day 4

An easy recovery spin and leisurely coffee/tapas stop with the 'freewheel championship' down the valley road to Órgiva.

Day 5

A ride into the Sierra Nevada again, with an optional time trial effort. A longer or shorter route back depending on how hard you pushed yourself!

Day 6

A shorter route towards the coast for a cafe stop before riding back through the beautiful Lecrin Valley lined with orange and lemon groves.

Day 7

Day seven - often groups like to save the best until last! You can enjoy a memorable ride taking in the heights of the mountains then riding down to the 'Costa Tropical' to cool off in the Mediterranean. Again, the route will vary by group but in one day's riding you can reach up to 1300-1600m altitude and then cruise as far as you want along the coast.
